CONGRATULATIONS!   to our new  North-American Professional vice champions Andre' Strinadko and Olga Kinnad. They became 2nd in North-American Professional championships on July 12th of 2008. Special congratulations to our new pre-teen North-American champions Andy Dunaevsky and Bella Berline who won North-American pre-teen championships on July 13th 2008. You came to the right place. We are ready to assist you in your  journey. We are passionate about dancing and would like to share our passion with you.  Our instructors are superbly trained and have the knowledge and experience you've been looking for.  You are welcome to come and see it for yourself. You can start with a simple Welcome Package; for only $46 you'll have a chance to try a private lesson and a group class and see if you like the instructor. You will not be disappointed. We offer you the best currently competing professionals Boston area can offer. Why would you need a competing professional? Simply because they have the latest information available since they still improving themselves taking lessons from the best in the world. Those aren't just words- it is our promise to you that you are in the hands of people who can make you into the dancer you've always wanted to be.

            History

       In 2006, Dance Republic opened as an intensive Dancesport program exclusively for competitive junior athletes. Members of the program have received national rankings, represented the United States at the World Dancesport Championships, as well as appeared on television and in national newspapers and magazines. Dance Republic has grown to include both on-going classes for adults of all levels and ages as well the esteemed Harvard Ballroom Dance Team. Now it is your turn.

 

 

Olga Kinnard
Began her training at the age of five as a Rhythmic gymnast in St. Petersburg, Russia. She was selected from hundreds of girls to become part of a very special training team designed to produce the Future Olympic Athletes.

 Olga graduated from Tufts University with Magna Cum Laude in Biology.  Shortly after graduation she moved to New York City to train intensively in Latin American Dancing. Among her dancing accomplishments are the following:

  • 2001 United Kingdom Open to the World Professional RS Finalist
  • 2003 & 2004 Canadian Professional Vice Champion
  • 2004 World Professional South American Show Dance finalist
  • 2005 World Pro-AM (instructor) Latin American Champion
  • 2007 U.S. National and North American RS Professional Champion
  • 2007 U.S. Open to the World RS Professional Champion
  • 2008 North-American Professional vice-champion 

In many years of teaching Olga produced national and world pro-am champions, US Junior vice champions, North-American pre-teen champions and numbers of regional champions in various divisions.   She personally invests in her students and their progress which is a huge part of their success.  She is passionate about working with children. She was a latin coach for Harvard Ballroom team in 2007-2008.

Teaching methods: As a coach Olga strongly believes in personalized approach to dancing. For her, teaching is about guiding students in a direction that suits their personality, body types and physical abilities and not about converting them into a particular style. She believes that finding one's own unique style of dancing is the ultimate goal of any dancer. 

 

Andre' Strinadko
Began dancing at the age of six. At the age of 12, he became a ten-dance and Latin finalist in all major Ukrainian Championships. Upon moving to New York City at the age of 15, he enhanced his dance training by studying Latin, ballet and contemporary dance with some of the best coaches in the world.

Before turning professional, Andre was a finalist and winner in some of the most prestigious competitions in the U.S. including the US National Championships and Ohio Star Ball. He performed in several Broadway shows including Louis Van Amstel's "Latin Fusion". His recent results include:

  • 2006 Same-sex Olympic champion (Chicago)
  • 2007 U.S. National and North American RS Professional Champion 
  • 2007 U.S. Open to the World RS Professional Champion
  • 2008 North-American Professional vice-champion

Andre' is producing great results with his pro-am students. He truly makes them into stars. Many of them are among the best in the country. His work produced National pro-am champions. 

 

Misha Yalovenko

was born in Novorossiysk, Russia where, at the age of six, he began his dancing career, moving on to win many competitions at the regional and national level In the early nineties, Misha and his partner joined the Atlantic Ballroom Dance Formation team as soloists, giving shows all over Europe and Asia.

While going for his Bachelor's in education at the Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University, Misha continued his dance studies abroad, often visiting London to take lessons with some of the best teachers in the world including Stephen and Jennifer Hillier, Charlotte Jorgenson, and many others. He graduated from the University Summa Cum Laude and moved on to the University College of London Law School where he studied International Trade and Human Rights Law, receiving a Juris Doctor Degree from the Suffolk Law School.

 

Basil Issaev
was recently awarded the title of Professional Norwegian Champion and represented Norway at the 2007 World Championships. His accomplishments include International Professional RS Finalist and US National Amateur Bronze Medallist.  

 

Mariko Cantley
began her dance training at age 5 in classical ballet. She studied at Boston Ballet, Ballet Theatre of Boston, and American Academy of Ballet and with Nora Irinova, training in character dance, jazz, hip hop, and ballroom. She began ballroom while studying for her BA in History at Harvard College, where she served as Team Captain of the Harvard Ballroom Team. In 2005 she began competing professionally in International Standard. She trains primarily with Charlotte Jorgensen, and has worked with Richard and Anne Gleave, Paul Holmes, and Linas Koreiva. She has been a frequent finalist in Rising Star competitions across the country.
